Former Vice President Kamala Harris<\/a> flubbed her opening line at a campaign event for Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) Thursday, referring to the incumbent as \u201cthe next\u201d senator from Georgia.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s hear it for Jon Ossoff,\u201d Harris<\/a> said at the start of the small rally for Ossoff campaign volunteers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe next \u2026 and continuing senator from the state of Georgia,\u201d she continued, briefly implying Ossoff wasn\u2019t already in office before catching herself.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The former vice president, who has been on the stump for Democrats<\/a> in Nevada, Mississippi, New Hampshire and Wisconsin in recent days, criticized the Trump administration\u2019s \u201creckless tariffs,\u201d \u201cwar nobody asked for\u201d and cuts to Medicaid and food stamps.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

She also praised the grassroots volunteers and doled out life advice throughout her short speech.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI came here today to thank you in advance for all you will do in your lifetime,\u201d Harris said, describing the volunteers as \u201cfellow members of the Role Model Club.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Role Model Club, we\u2019re all in it, and in the Role Model Club sometimes it can be weighty,\u201d she explained.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cBut the thing about being a role model,\u201d Harris continued, \u201cis in the process of pursuing your excellence, with all the hard work that requires, you are lifting up folks you don\u2019t even know.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cYou are lifting up folks who may never know your name or mine, folks you may never meet, but because they are aware of what you are and what you do, they are forever inspired, and that is a great gift you are giving our country.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Harris has been in several states stumping for Democrats in recent days.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Harris tried wrapping up her remarks after the pep talk, but Ossoff\u2019s supporters encouraged her to continue \u2013 and she did.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cOK, I got some more advice,\u201d she cackled. \u201cIn your careers, there will probably be many moments when you are in a room where you are the only person like you. The only person who looks like you, the only person who has had your life experience, but one of the things I require you to remember when you walk in that room: I require you to be you.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Earlier Thursday, President Trump spoke at a campaign rally in Rock Hill, S.C., in support of Sen. Darline Graham (R-SC) in her competitive re-election race against Democratic challenger Annie Andrews.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Vice President JD Vance headlined a midterm rally in Weatherford, Texas, in support of Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton.\u00a0<\/p>\n
